We love December because we get to spend the whole month celebrating!
At the beginning of the month, Grammy Cathy came to visit. We had lots of fun with her.
One night, we had a yummy dinner and decorated gingerbread cookie ornaments.. . Kayla loved decorating the cookies while Luke loved eating them.
Kayla had lots of school Christmas parties!!
We went to a Christmas breakfast at church.
Kayla and I went to the Nutcracker with some friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

We celebrated advent each Sunday. The second Sunday of December was also St. Lucia day, our favorite Swedish holiday. So we combined our advent and St. Lucia celebrations and ate our swedish oven pancakes for dinner, sang Christmas carols and read Christmas books.
We celebrated Grammy Shar-Shar's birthday and then enjoyed a wonderful Christmas light show.
Finally it was Christmas Eve! We loved the raclette dinner and yummy desserts. Then on to our reenactment of Christ's birth (I left these pictures out as our costumes weren't up to par this year), opening of some presents (Kayla gave us a homemade ornament - our favorite), and singing Christmas carols.
Then it was Christmas morning! It was the first time celebrating Christmas in our home - it was so much fun. The kids anxiously waited at the top of the stairs until it was time to see if Santa came. . . yep, he did! Kayla just asked for one toy, a karaoke machine, and was so excited to learn that he also brought her an Easy Bake oven. Luke was just excited to open presents.
As you can tell we love celebrating Christmas . . . too bad we have to wait a whole year!
