Today was a great snow day - it snowed 3 inches through the night, which made a beautiful white blanket that sparkled in the sun. It reminded me of when we used to live out west - packable snow on the ground, accompanied by bright blue skies - just beautiful. Kayla made her first snow-girl who likes to curtsy.
Unfortunately, we don't own the proper snow gear, since it supposedly never snows in Charlotte. . . so Kayla got pretty cold, pretty fast. To warm up those cold fingers, we drank hot cocoa dotted with marshmallows...yummy.
Then to bring a bit of that sparkle inside, we made tissue paper snowflakes and hung them in the kitchen window (that picture didn't turn out too good). We did all this while Luke took a nap this morning since he it too sick too play. . .he has had a fever virus all weekend, poor kid.

Oh, to have a snowlady that can curtsy! Then to warm tingling fingers with cocoa and marshmellows. The perfect day!
The tissue paper snowflakes will be hanging long after the snow and marshmellows melt...in rememberance of "the day that snow fell in Charlotte."
How fun! My kids have commented several times about wanting to be back in Alaska to play in the snow. So the three inches you got would be just about what we need right now... but I'm pretty sure it really never snows here!
