A Great Day Trip

My sisters and niece came into town so we decided to explore a little more of NC.  We went to Grand Father's Mountain and Blowing Rock the Saturday before July 4th and had a great time.

We did the 1/2 mile hike to get to the swinging bridge at grandfather's mountain. . . and I huffed and puffed the whole way up . .. but I made it and it was a really fun, beautiful hike!

The views were breathtaking and Kayla was our brave one. . . she hiked along the rocky cliff with her daddy while I stayed on more solid ground with Luke.

After Grandfather Mountain, we went to a cute town called Blowing Rock. . .my kids loved this little waterfall.
And of course we had to get ice cream.
The fireworks didn't start until 9:30 and by then my kiddos were so hyper.  But we were all smiles as the fireworks were held on a beautiful golf course that was surrounded by mountains !!   So pretty!

This was such a special day. So wonderful to get to see a little bit more of North Carolina. So proud of Molly to make the hike, it was rather steep for a preggie mama-to-be. Luke got a 'free' ride but Kayla climbed over every rock and log in her way! What a trooper.
