Toothless Fun

If you haven't seen Kayla for a while, she will make sure you notice what is different about her. . .she has an adult tooth coming in!
A couple months ago Kayla lost her first tooth at school.
The tooth fell out onto the floor in the middle of class.  Luckily she found it and her teacher put it in a ziploc for her for safe keeping until she could get it home and put it under her pillow. . . Good thing as the tooth fairy gave her $5 for it!!!

She now has a couple more loose teeth. . . but she is questioning the realness of the tooth fairy as her schoolmates have been telling her that she doesn't exist. . . we told her you have to believe in order to get money from the tooth fairy . . .so we'll have to see what happens next time she looses a tooth!

Luckily, she still believes in the Easter Bunny and she and Luke loved all the goodies that he brought this year.  They had a blast dying easter eggs too!

Kayla will graduate from Kindergarten in 9 days!  I can't believe that she will be a 1st grader next year!  She has had a great year and has learned so much!  She loves to read and is so good at it!  Her kindergarten program was great - they sang a bunch of really cute songs and Kayla's smile lit up the stage!

Since kindergarten is a little more forgiving about missing school days, we decided to take Kayla out for a couple days to go to Myrtle beach with Hunter's parents.  We lucked out with pretty good weather - it was mid 70s most of the week!  The kids had a blast playing on the beach, swimming in the pool, and going out for ice cream.  Hunter and his parents loved trying out new places to eat each day!

The beach was a nice change of scenery for all of us as we had been cooped up in our house since we returned from our trip to Thailand because I have been so sick from this pregnancy.  For those of you who don't know, we are 4 months pregnant and the baby is due early November!

This past Sunday we celebrated Memorial Day at my parent's house by roasting "spider dogs" and marshmallows!  Everyone had a blast and I think my kids are still on a sugar high from the smores!

We also tried to teach Kayla what Memorial Day was about . . it was really nice opportunity to talk about her great-grandparents whom we loved so much!

Molly it does my heart good to see you sharing your family experiences again. And even happier that you are feeling well enough to do it. Kayla's loss of a tooth and new one coming in really is the big Gickling news AFTER Baby Thai (lol)news!!!
Best of kindergarten...learning to read so proficiently. We love to hear Kayla read with enthusiasm and feeling. And Luke, well those gorgeous brown eyes say it all...and that little mug all covered with sweetness. Love to you all.
